On June 23, 2025 (2 Tir 1404), a group of Sri Lankan religious figures gathered in front of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Colombo to express their solidarity with the oppressed people of Iran following the recent acts of aggression by the Zionist regime and the United States of America against Iranian territory. In this solemn and spiritually significant gathering, participants offered flowers in memory of the martyrs of the attacks, observed a moment of silence, and prayed for the peace of their souls. The religious leaders also called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, the rejection of violence, and the establishment of lasting peace in the region and the world. This humanitarian and peace-driven gesture reflects the deep spiritual and ethical unity among divine religions in opposing war, oppression, and injustice. The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sri Lanka deeply appreciates this heartfelt demonstration of support and considers it a powerful expression of the awakened conscience of Sri Lanka’s religious communities.
